From The Linux Foundation

The LSB workgroup will be meeting at the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit on June 14 - 15.

This will be a two day meeting. The LSB workgroup will participate with the Desktop Architects workgroup on the first day, and will meet separately the second day. The agenda on the second day will focus on finalizing the roadmaps and timelines for LSB 3.2 and 4.0.

Participate in the Desktop Architects Meeting 4.

LSB face-to-face, day two (June 15)

Day two will focus on current status and recent progress at the LSB; a high level discussion of goals and priorities, feedback from the Linux platform stakeholders, and project infrastructure and deliverables, including the new LSB database and testing framework, tools, documentation, and ISV feedback.

1:30pm - 1:50pm Certification and Testing (Alexey Khoroshilov, Jeff Licquia)

Overview of the plans for the LSB certification system and how the testing framework fits within it. How should the LF and the LSB team handle certification and testing?

1:50pm - 2:15pm LSB Infrastructure: Testing and Analytical Components (Vladimir Rubanov)

New LSB Tests Development:

  • Current testing coverage
  • 3 testing quality grades
  • 3 testing frameworks for each grade (AZOV, T2C, UniTESK)
  • Proposed test development strategy and plans

Analytical tasks:

  • Communicating with upstream on problems in docs and implementations
  • Maintaining information in Linux Ecosystem Tracker
  • Analyzing which interfaces are in LSB by mistake and which are missing
  • Selected examples of LSB Analysis

Slides

2:15pm - 3:00pm LSB SDK and Packaging tools (Moderator: Jeff Licquia)

The current LSB SDK makes it easy to create an LSB compliant binary, but doesn't yet make it easy enough to create a distributable, easy to install LSB compliant application In this session, we'll discuss shorter term plans for making it easier to create distributable LSB applications that integrate well, such as including RPM helpers, alien, APT/yum repo generators, etc. in the LSB SDK.

3:00pm - 3:15pm Break
3:15pm - 4:00pm Accessibility (George Kraft, Janina Saika)

We will discuss best practices for developing accessible software applications with the Linux Foundation Accessibility Workgroup.
