This project was approved, along with LSB:PM:Cairo, but as a lower-priority project, which can be postponed if necessary. It has not been started yet.
The LSB 3.x series included the GTK+ Stack, based on the ABI for 2.6. Upstream is now on 2.12, and preparing to release 2.14.
While we continue to be compatible with the shipping GTK+, there are new features in the newer versions of GTK+ that we should consider enabling.
A rough proposed schedule for this project. When we anticipate that we will reach certain milestones. Also, if the project has an absolutely-must-be-completed-by date, mention it here.
| Milestone | Plan Date | Outlook | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decide whether we want to do this. | 4/11/2008 | Done | Yes, but at lower priority. |
| Decide on the APIs to import. | |||
| Mark the new APIs appropriately in the database, and propagate to tests, specs, and SDK. | |||
| Update the gtkvts test suite. | |||
| Update our specification references to point to the 2.8 upstream specs. |

According to our current plan for LSB 4, we cannot upgrade any farther than GTK+ 2.8. Is this worth doing?
Also, implementing this is dependent on implementing LSB:PM:Cairo.
