Individual membership is one of the most important programs we host at The Linux Foundation. It gives anyone the opportunity to support Linux and its creator Linus Torvalds, among other important activities. It also comes with a variety of perks like a personalized Linux.com email address (you@linux.com) and employee purchase pricing from Dell, HP and Lenovo.

And, this month we're offering an additional, really big, one-time-only perk: 50 percent off of LinuxCon Europe when you join The Linux Foundation by October 31. This discount pays for the individual membership more than two times over!  The event takes place in Barcelona in just a couple of weeks - November 5-7, 2012 - so if you're planning to go but haven't registered yet,  you should definitely take advantage of this offer.

Linus will be speaking at the event, as will Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth and other notable industry leaders and developers. There are also eight co-located events ranging from Yocto Developer Day to the OpenSAF European Symposium. The complete event schedule can be found on our Linux Foundation events website.

This additional perk extends the opportunity for individuals to support Linux to actually collaborate real-time with the people working on Linux every day.

The impact that individuals can have on Linux is immeasurable. It is these individual enthusiasts, developers, users and business executives who make Linux what it is: the largest collaborative development project in the history of computing.

Please join us in in this project and in our collective mission to advance, promote and protect the Linux operating system. To join The Linux Foundation, just visit our Linux Foundation membreship webpage.
