Legal Summit

The Linux Foundation holds two legal summits each year where member counsel can collaborate on solving legal issues facing Linux and open source. These summits are the first and only neutral, non-profit legal forums where leading attorneys from open source companies and the community can work together to focus on the issues of greatest common interest and concern, including agreeing upon the next steps towards building a legal defense infrastructure for Linux.

Past legal summits were held in Spring 2008 at the Motorola campus in Schaumburg, IL (open to non-member counsel also) and in Fall 2008 at the IBM campus in Hawthorne, NY.

The next face-to-face Legal Summit will be held in Fall 2009 and is an excellent opportunity for member counsel who are looking for practical legal guidance on open source matters. If you or your company would like to attend this event and are an LF member, please contact events (at) linuxfoundation dot org. If you are not a member, please contact membership (at) linuxfoundation dot org.
