The Long-Term Support Initiative, or LTSI, provides a common Linux kernel base for embedded products and is maintained by the Consumer Electronics Working Group hosted at The Linux Foundation.
This paper explains why LTSI was started, how it works, and attempts to estimate the economic value to companies that take advantage of the LTSI kernel.
