A Road Map to Improve the Effectiveness and Impact of Enterprise Open Source Development

Download Report

As open source continues to grow at the enterprise level, there is increasing recognition of the challenges inherent to enterprise open source consumption and contribution and the ways to address these challenges. This report covers several practices that enterprises can adopt to effectively participate in open source, including:

  • Hiring developers from the project’s community
  • Allocating time for upstream contributions
  • Setting up a mentorship program
  • Implementing inner sourcing practices
  • And more!

These practices make up a useful toolbox for companies that are looking to both earn and maintain their open source leadership and be valuable participants in their ecosystem.
