Download Report
What are Japan's open source priorities, challenges, and opportunities in 2025? LF Research, in partnership with LF Japan and Canonical, completed the Japanese analysis of its annual World of Open Source survey. The findings show that Japanese organizations depend on open source software as the foundation of their critical infrastructure, in particular in specialized applications such as augmented reality and 3D simulation, blockchain, and manufacturing. However, companies lack proper governance and security mechanisms needed to properly support and sustain their investments. Read the full report to learn more about the state of open source in Japan in 2025 and what Japanese companies can do to protect their open source infrastructure.
